ANDREW RODRIGUEZ

Andrew Rodriguez is an NYC-based choreographer and director whose work sits at the intersection of dance, fashion, film, and theatre. Equally at home reimagining classic material, adapting literary works into live performance, and creating original work, Rodriguez's direction ranges from stripped-down, intimate work to expansive, large-scale productions. He builds worlds that feel heightened and dreamlike while staying tethered to something recognizably human; using movement, text, and design in tandem to shape the full visual and emotional world of a piece.

Andrew has developed and created work with companies and institutions, including Yale School of Music, Yale Center for Collaborative Arts and Media, The Mercury Store, New York Theatre Workshop, Atlantic Theater Company, Nancy Manocherian's the cell theatre (2024 Resident Artist), The Rude Mechs, line-upon-line percussion, David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University (Yale Cabaret & Yale Summer Cabaret), Actors Theatre of Louisville, The Hidden Room Theatre, and UT-Austin.

Rodriguez is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin (BFA, 2019), a former Acting Apprentice at Actors Theatre of Louisville (2019-2020), an alumnus of The Juilliard School Drama Division's Professional Apprenticeship Program (2020-2021), and is a former 2050 Directing Fellow at New York Theatre Workshop (2022 - 2023). Previously, Andrew worked at Atlantic Theater Company as the Artistic Director of Conservatory Productions (2021 - 2024).
